Windows 12: The debut of a new generation

WHEN THE DEBUT?

Contrary to what is continually publicised and shown in various videos, Microsoft has not yet announced any official debut of the new operating system, making no official statements on an official confirmation date for the release of the software.

Information on the release date of Windows 12 is still based on rumours and not on official announcements by Microsoft. However, many sources suggest that Windows 12 could be released in 2024. Some reports indicate a possible release in June 2024,

while others suggest it could be released in late 2024, possibly in October. However, it is important to note that these dates are speculative and could change.

Microsoft has not yet officially announced a release date for Windows 12.

Some reports suggest that the next operating system update will be Windows 11 24H2, not Windows 12. This update is still expected to bring many new features, including a focus on artificial intelligence.

LEAKS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: REVOLUTION IN GAMING?

One of the most interesting leaks concerns the integration of artificial intelligence within Windows 12. Microsoft seems to be betting heavily on the use of AI, with a focus on collaboration with CoPilot, a system that will make the use of Windows more intuitive and personalised. In addition, there is also talk of a possible 'super resolution', which could affect both video and video games.

This could be a significant improvement for users who want better visual quality.

Information on possible new features of Windows 12 for the gaming world is still largely based on rumours and not on official announcements by Microsoft.

However, there are some features and improvements that have been suggested:

Streaming Management:
Windows 12 could improve streaming management for gamers. This could include the ability to easily control streaming configurations through a single app, making the process less stressful for users.

Support for Portable Gaming Devices:
Windows 12 could improve support for portable gaming devices. This could include a smoother experience and fewer problems with games on these devices.

Touch and Controller Support:
Windows 12 could improve support for touch and controllers, making the gaming experience more suitable for touch-based devices.

System Requirements:
System requirements for Windows 12 may be higher, which could affect the performance of games. For instance, the RAM memory required by Windows 12 could rise to 8 GB.

As far as gaming is concerned, Windows 12 could bring significant improvements. There is talk of an optimisation of the DirectX 12 API, which could offer faster loading and texture streaming. This could ensure a smoother and more immersive gaming experience for users. In addition, it is also hoped for a better optimisation of the interface for devices with smaller screens, such as handhelds, to offer greater convenience and ease of use.

However, it is important to note that these are only speculations and that the actual features of Windows 12 may vary. Microsoft has not yet officially announced the specific features of Windows 12 for gaming.

NEW USER INTERFACE

The Windows 12 user interface is still in the prototype stage, but according to rumours, it is expected to be able to automatically adapt to any device, regardless of its type and form factor, including devices with foldable displays.

This suggests an evolution towards a more fluid and versatile user experience, potentially in line with the idea of a modular operating system, as previously conceived with Windows Core OS.

Some reports indicate that the Windows 12 user interface may feature a 'floating' taskbar at the top of the screen, signalling a significant change from previous versions of Windows.

Furthermore, there is talk of a possible complete rewriting of the operating system's code base to achieve greater modularity and to integrate artificial intelligence more extensively.

A concept published by Addy Visuals shows an application bar divided into sections, offering users more customisation possibilities.

However, it is important to emphasise that this is a concept and not an official preview by Microsoft.

A short clip shown during the Microsoft Ignite 2022 keynote revealed a new user interface that differs from that of Windows 11, with the system buttons, taskbar, search bar and weather icon moved to the top of the display. This could indicate a direction towards a cleaner, less cluttered interface.

Rumours suggest significant changes that could lead to a more adaptable and customisable user experience.

Support for Wi-Fi 7 is one of the expected features for future versions of Windows, including the next major release which could be Windows 12.

According to available information, Windows 10 may not receive official support for Wi-Fi 7, while Windows 11 and the future version of Windows, presumably Windows 12, should support it. During CES 2024, both DELL and HP mentioned support for Wi-Fi 7 in connection with the next version of Windows expected in 2024.

Furthermore, HP anticipated that the 24H2 update of Windows 11 will include support for Wi-Fi 7.

However, it is not yet clear whether Wi-Fi 7 support will be exclusive to Windows 12 or whether it will also be included in a future Windows 11 update.

CONCLUDING

Summarising briefly, the main new features or previews of Windows 12 should concern:

Artificial Intelligence:
The next version of Windows should have a big focus on artificial intelligence, with major improvements for Copilot, a Windows AI feature.

User Interface:
The new interface should be able to automatically adapt to any device, regardless of its type and form factor. This could include devices with foldable displays.

Wi-Fi 7 support:
The next version of Windows should support Wi-Fi 7, according to DELL and HP during the presentation of new PCs at CES 2024.

Application interaction improvements
: Windows 12's user interface and how it interacts with applications is expected to undergo a significant overhaul.

The information currently available on Windows 12 suggests that it may be in development and that there could be major new features related to artificial intelligence, the new user interface and other improvements. However, it is important to emphasise that there is currently no official confirmation from Microsoft regarding the launch of Windows 12.

Current information is based on rumours and leaks.

Some sources suggest that the release could take place in 2024, but there is no official confirmation regarding the launch date.

In addition, there have been discussions about possible support for Wi-Fi 7 and an increase in RAM requirements from 4 GB to 8 GB. However, it is important to keep in mind that this information could change in the future. In conclusion, while there are many rumours and speculations about Windows 12, there is currently no official confirmation about specific features or launch date.
